Miami River Commission and City Year Miami Volunteers Partner to Beauty the Miami River Greenway on April 24th, 2009.
(Miami, Fl.) - To continue Earth Day celebration, over 50 City Year Miami Volunteers will join the Miami River Commission (MRC) – in partnership with the Florida Department of Transportation, City of Miami, and Miami-Dade County on Friday, April 24th, 2009, 9 am to 2 pm, to beautify the Miami River Greenway. The volunteers will plant a tree and flowering bushes donated by Vila and Sons Landscaping, spread mulch partially donated by Fl Wood Recycling, and dirty partially donated by Eagle Carriers, pull weeds, remove litter, and paint, in order to make a new riverfront pocket park and improve the City owned Miami River Greenway along North River Drive from 1-95 to NW 6th Ave.
